Abstract:Abstract Objective To explore the repair of cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea under nasal endoscope and to summarize the clinical experience. Methods Clinical data of 39 cases with cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea accepted endoscopic repair from July 2008 to July 2010 was studied retrospectively. The fracture was located in thmoid sinus in 18 cases, sphenoid sinus in 12 cases and frontal sinus in 9 cases. Fistula size ranged from5 mm×5 mm to 30 mm×30 mm. After finding the leak site under endoscope, the wound was scratched, repaired with autologous material, covered with fascia and filled or enclosed the sinus with autologous muscle. Results All the 39 patients were followed up for 2 months to 2 years and got cured, with an average healing time of 16 days. Conclusion Endoscopic repair is the first choice for the cerebrospinal fluid rhinorrhea.
