Abstract:Objective To investigate the clinical features and treatment of tracheal stenosis following tracheal intubation. Methods The clinical data of 7 patients with tracheal stenosis following tracheal intubation was reviewed retrospectively. Results Of all the 7 patients, 6 were decannulated within 5 months after surgery and one died of ischemic encephalopathy. During the followup period (ranged from 3 to 24 months), no one suffered from restenosis or injury of recurrent nerve. Couclusion Tracheal intubation maybe one of the most common causes of tracheal stenosis. Proper choice of correct surgical method is the key to curing this disease.
