Abstract:Objective: To study the role of annexin A5 (ANXA5) in laryngeal carcinoma via detecting the expression of ANXA5 in human laryngeal carcinoma tissue. Methods: Protein and gene expression of ANXA5 was detected with immunohistochemical technique and RT-PCR. 53 specimens of laryngeal carcinoma and 25 of adjacent normal tissues from laryngeal carcinoma patients with various clinical stages and pathologic classification. Results: Over-expression of gene and protein of ANXA5 was observed in human laryngeal carcinoma tissues (P<0.05), and the expression levels of ANXA5 were closely associated with the clinical stages, pathologic classification and cervical lymphatic metastasis of laryngeal carcinoma (P<0.05) and irrelevant with patients’age, gender and clinical classification(P>0.05). Conclusions: ANXA5 may play an important role in the occurrence and development of human laryngeal carcinoma.
