ObjectiveTo evaluate the safety and effect of balloon sinuplasty on the treatment of chronic rhinosinusitis.Methods10 patients (11 maxillary sinuses, 9 sphenoid sinuses, 6 frontal sinuses) received balloon catheter dilation of sinus ostia. All the patients were followed up 3 to 12 months postoperatively and the therapeutic effect was evaluated.ResultsClinical symptoms got relieved in all patients. Endoscopic examination demonstrated patency of ostia in 25 sinuses and stenosis in one. No postoperative complications occurred.ConclusionsWith advantages of good clinical effect and safety, balloon sinuplasty is worthy of clinic application.
