Abstract:Abstract:ObjectiveTo investigate the anesthesia, surgical effect of epiglottic cyst removal with ultrasonic harmonic scalpel through selfretaining laryngoscope, and summary our experience and comprehension.MethodsClinical data of 42 patients suffering from epiglottic cyst and treated in our department between Jan 2013 and Jan 2015 were analyzed retrospectively. Removal of epiglottic cyst was performed in all the patients by ultrasonic harmonic scalpel under general anesthesia. All the patients had been followed up for one year postoperatively, and the therapeutic effect was evaluated by video laryngoscope.Results41 patients were cured, and epigottis atrophy occurred in one.ConclusionRemoval of epiglottis cyst with ultrasonic harmonic scalpel has advantages of less intraoperative bleeding, clear operation field and short operation time. To avoid postoperative violent pain and epigottis atrophy resulted from extensive thermal injury, surgical procedure should be performed carefully.
