To discuss the airway protection measures for patients with airway diversion (tracheostomy or total laryngectomy) in novel coronavirus pneumonia outbreak. Methods122 patients undergoing tracheostomy without extubation or total laryngectomy in our department from Jan 2018 to Dec 2019 were followed up for airway protection education，During the epidemic period from Jan 22,2020 to Feb 18,2020,through the establishment of wechat group and telephone followup,targeted airway protection and education were carried out, and to collect information on their daily activity and physical conditions.ResultsAs of Feb 18, 2020, no confirmed COVID19 case was found in all the 122 patients.ConclusionDuring the epidemic period of respiratory infectious diseases, the targeted guidance on airway protection for patients with airway diversion can effectively reduce the infection rate.
