Abstract:Allergic Rhinitis (AR) is an inflammatory reaction mediated by specific immunoglobulin E (IgE). IL-4 and IL-5 secreted by Th2 are the main inflammatory factors. B lymphocyte-inducible maturation protein-1 (Blimp-1) is a zinc finger motif-containing transcriptional repressor that regulates T cell development, differentiation and function, and has important regulatory roles in the proliferation and differentiation of activated T lymphocytes and immune self-stabilization. Given the anti-inflammatory effects of Blimp-1 on the lower respiratory tract and other allergic inflammatory response diseases, an in-depth exploration of the possible role of Blimp-1 in the development of AR is of great significance in studying the pathogenesis of AR, new therapeutic approaches, improving symptoms, and reducing the development of complications. Therefore, this paper provides a review around the relationship between Blimp-1 and AR.
