Abstract:Objective: To investigate the characteristics, diagnosis, treatment and postoperative complications of carotid body tumor. Methods: The clinical data of patients with carotid body tumor admitted from August 2016 to May 2022 were analyzed, summarized and followed up. Results: The diagnostic rates of B-mode ultrasound, neck CT, MRI and DSA were 74%, 95%, 90% and 100% respectively. Among them, the diagnostic accuracy of DSA is 100%, which is the most effective examination method. 19 patients underwent complete resection of tumor, and 1 patient did not complete resection of tumor. Conclusion: B-mode ultrasound can be used as a preliminary screening method for carotid body tumors. DSA, CTA and MRI are all effective methods for the examination of carotid body tumors, and microscopic devascularization technology is an effective method for the surgical removal of carotid body tumors..
