Abstract:The nasal tip, which is the most prominent point and a critical aesthetic landmark of the face, contributes significant importance in facial aesthetics. Asian people have a relatively flat and rounded nasal tip, and therefore the demand for nasal tip surgery is common. However, the anatomical features of the Asian nose differ from those of other ethnic groups, primarily characterized by a weaker cartilaginous framework and thicker nasal tip skin. A natural and ideal nasal tip reconstruction for Asian people is challenge. The primary challenge for rhinoplasty surgeons is to shape a nasal tip with aesthetic well nasal function. This article focuses on the anatomy of the nasal tip, the principles of facial aesthetics, and various rhinoplasty techniques for nasal tip reshaping, and examines the advantages and limitations of techniques such as cartilage grafting, suture methods, and structural support reconstruction. Then we assess the applicability and effectiveness of different surgical approaches considering the specific anatomical characteristics of the Asian nose, to provide reference for the selection of nasal tip plastic surgery.
