Abstract:The traditional clinical teaching mode places excessive emphasis on theoretical learning while overlooking the significance of clinical practice and doctor - patient communication. As a consequence, students are deficient in practical operation skills and the ability to communicate effectively with patients. Taking the clinical teaching of otolaryngology, head and neck surgery as an illustrative example, this paper proposes a preliminary framework of the "theoretical analysis - role playing - patient communication" model. This teaching approach, designed specifically for undergraduate medical students, is conducive to their transformation of theoretical knowledge into practical skills and the enhancement of their doctor - patient communication capabilities.
